Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your first visit is a bit slower and more in-depth so we can really understand what’s going on!

We’ll start by talking through your health history, your current symptoms, and what’s been feeling most frustrating or limiting in your body.

From there, you’ll receive a full treatment. This may include acupuncture, hands-on fascia work, and other techniques depending on what your body needs that day.

Most people find the treatment relaxing, and many notice a shift in tension, movement, or overall calmness even after the first session.

Before you leave, we’ll go over what I’m seeing and what I’d recommend moving forward so you feel clear on next steps!

  • Wear something comfortable that you can move easily in. Loose-fitting clothing is best, especially around the area we’re working on.

If you’re coming straight from work or can’t change, don’t worry! I have sheets and can drape you as needed so you’re comfortable.

  • Acupuncture can support a wide range of concerns including chronic pain, muscle tension, headaches, stress, digestive issues, women’s health concerns, and movement-related pain. I take a whole-body approach, looking at both symptoms and the underlying patterns contributing to them.

  • This depends on your goals, how long symptoms have been present, and how your body responds. Some people feel relief quickly, while others benefit from a short series of treatments to create lasting change. We’ll discuss recommendations at your first visit.

  • Most people are surprised by how relaxing an acupuncture treatment is! The needles are very thin, and while you may feel a brief sensation, treatments are typically relaxing — many patients even fall asleep.

  • I commonly work with women experiencing PMS, heavy or painful periods, irregular cycles, fertility concerns, perimenopause and menopause symptoms, sleep disruption, and stress-related hormonal shifts. If you’re looking for acupuncture for women’s health in High River or the surrounding Foothills area, care is always individualized to your body and stage of life.

  • Fascia stretching is a gentle, guided technique that targets the connective tissue (fascia) surrounding your muscles and joints. By reducing tension and improving glide between tissues, it can help improve mobility, decrease pain, enhance circulation, and support better overall movement patterns. When combined with acupuncture, fascia work helps address both the structural and nervous system components of pain and restriction.

  • “I’m a 60-year-old woman who had been struggling with chronic shoulder pain for quite some time. It made everything difficult, doing my hair, cleaning, driving. After just three treatments with Dr. Kaylee, I noticed significant improvement. My mobility is better and the pain has eased so much.”

  • I originally came in for tight hips and low back pain from training, and the results have been great. Her combination of stretching and acupuncture noticeably improved my mobility and recovery. I’m moving better and feel less stiff between workouts.

  • I brought my teenage daughter to see Kaylee for painful periods, and it’s been such a great experience. She took time to make her feel comfortable and explained everything in a really calm, approachable way. After a few treatments, her cramps have improved and she feels a lot less anxious around her cycle. It’s been such a relief as a mom! I’m so glad we found her.
